Licensed comics are the most consistently read part of any newspaper. Traditionally, comics continue to maintain a strong position across youth culture and into adult reading.

ROK licensed comics is a new way of viewing and downloading comics and cartoon strips straight to mobile. The licenses cover a wide range of material that appears in daily newspapers, magazines and through traditional comic press. Daily strips are published the same day on ROK Comics as they appear in print. Each comic has been specially formatted to work on the mobile handset using WAP pages, WAP download or MMS download.

The service provides licensed comics delivered to the user’s handset, either as a single comic strip on demand, or through a WAP based subscription service. A user can also browse through the previews of comic strips on offer through the main WAP or web sites. Both services provide a mechanic for ordering single downloads or subscriptions.

With every new deployment in a territory, existing content is handpicked for suitability. Traditional localised content is also sourced. ROK comics are managed directly from the UK by John Freeman, who has over 20 years experience and knowledge of this industry; having previously been a Group Editor for Marvel Comics UK and editor of magazines such as Doctor Who, Star Trek and Star Wars.
