Appointed in June 2007. Formerly the managing director of Genie (the BT Cellnet subsidiary), Laurence developed the Dutch-owned ISP World Online which was acquired by Tiscali. His technology remains the backbone of Tiscali today.
Laurence was a founder of O2, being Group Director of Products and Devices and then President of O2 Asia Pacific where he was responsible, amongst other things, for bringing Blackberrys to the UK. He drove the development of O2 globally until the company was sold for $18 billion. Prior to joining ROK, Laurence was CEO of Emblaze Mobile, the listed handset manufacturer, building the business from scratch to revenues of $350 million.
He sees ROK as the ultimate opportunity for a global footprint in the mobile space.
